Cook pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add garlic and sauté for 1 minute.
Add shrimp to the skillet and cook until pink, about 3-4 minutes per side.
Pour in heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Cook for 2-3 minutes until slightly thickened.
Stir in Parmesan cheese until melted and smooth.
Add cooked pasta to the skillet and toss to coat with the creamy sauce.
Mix in fresh basil and season with salt and pepper.
Serve your shrimp pasta hot, garnished with extra Parmesan and red pepper flakes if desired.
