Comfort food doesn't get better than this recipe. Perfect for busy weeknight dinners or weekend gatherings, these French dip biscuits offer a delicious twist on the traditional sandwich. Each bite delivers rich, savory flavors that will have everyone at the table asking for seconds.

Equipment

  • Slow cooker or large Dutch oven
  • Cutting board
  • Sharp knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Mixing bowls
  • Serving platter

Ingredients
  

  • For the Beef
  • 3-4 pounds chuck roast
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • For the Au Jus
  • 1 cup reserved beef cooking liquid
  • 1/4 cup red wine optional
  • Biscuit Components
  • 8 fresh buttermilk biscuits
  • 2 tablespoons butter

Instructions
 

  • Season chuck roast generously with salt and pepper
  • Brown meat in olive oil until golden on all sides
  • Transfer meat to slow cooker
  • Pour beef broth and Worcestershire sauce over roast
  • Cook on low for 8 hours until meat is tender
  • Shred beef using two forks
  • Toast biscuits and spread with butter
  • Layer shredded beef on biscuits
  • Strain cooking liquid for dipping sauce
