Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder

  • 1 tbsp ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 tsp ground ginger
  • 1 cup unsalted butter softened
  • 1 1/2 cups brown sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup granulated sugar for caramel
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour the cake pan.
  • Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  • Cream butter and brown sugar. Add eggs and vanilla.
  • Alternate adding dry ingredients and buttermilk to the butter mixture.
  • Pour batter into the pan. Bake for 35-40 minutes.
  • Make caramel: Heat sugar and water until golden. Add cream carefully.
  • Cool cake. Drizzle with caramel sauce.
