Method
- Bring water to a rolling boil in a large pot.
- Add salt to the boiling water.
- Add pasta and stir gently.
- Set timer based on pasta cooking times:
- Thin pasta (angel hair): 2-3 minutes
- Medium pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine): 6-8 minutes
- Thick pasta (penne, rigatoni): 10-12 minutes
- Test pasta 2 minutes before the suggested time.
- Drain pasta when it reaches desired texture.
