Teriyaki Steak Bites Recipe

Picture tender beef pieces smothered in a sweet teriyaki sauce. It caramelizes beautifully, mixing savory and sweet flavors. This recipe is great for those who want to cook like a pro but don't have a lot of time.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound sirloin or ribeye steak cut into bite-sized cubes
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch for a crispy sear
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil or sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • ¼ cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons honey or brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon ginger grated
  • ½ teaspoon red pepper flakes optional
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds for garnish
  • 2 tablespoons green onions chopped (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Large skillet or cast-iron pan
  • Mixing bowl
  • Cutting board
  • Knife
  • Measuring cups and spoons
  • Tongs or wooden spoon

Method
 

  1. Prep the Steak
  2. Cut the steak into bite-sized cubes and pat dry with a paper towel.
  3. Toss the steak with cornstarch to help create a crispy crust.
  4. Sear the Steak
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add the steak bites in a single layer and sear for 2–3 minutes per side until browned.
  7. Remove from the pan and set aside.
  8. Make the Teriyaki Sauce
  9. In the same skillet, reduce heat to medium.
  10. Add garlic, soy sauce, honey, rice vinegar, ginger, and red pepper flakes. Stir well.
  11. Simmer for 2 minutes until slightly thickened.
  12. Coat the Steak
  13. Return the steak bites to the skillet and toss to coat in the sauce.
  14. Cook for 1–2 more minutes until everything is well combined.
  15. Garnish and Serve
  16. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
  17. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or veggies.
