Taco Lasagna Recipe

Many home cooks and food lovers are finding it easy to make this tasty dish. With a few simple ingredients and basic cooking skills, you can turn a regular dinner into a special meal.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 lb 450g ground beef
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 packet 1 oz taco seasoning
  • 1 can 10 oz diced tomatoes with green chilies (e.g., Rotel), drained
  • 1 cup salsa
  • 1 can 15 oz black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 1 cup frozen corn
  • 6 flour tortillas medium, about 8-inch
  • 2 cups shredded Mexican blend cheese cheddar & Monterey Jack
  • ½ cup sour cream optional
  • 2 tbsp fresh cilantro chopped (for garnish)

Equipment

  • Large skillet
  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Cutting board & knife
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • Mixing bowl
  • Wooden spoon or spatula

Method
 

  1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the Beef Mixture: Heat a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground beef and cook until browned. Drain excess grease.
  3. Add Flavor: Stir in diced onion, garlic, and taco seasoning. Cook for 2 minutes, then add diced tomatoes, salsa, black beans, and corn. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Assemble the Lasagna:
  5. Spread a small amount of beef mixture on the bottom of a 9x13-inch baking dish.
  6. Place 2 tortillas on top.
  7. Add ⅓ of the beef mixture and ⅓ of the cheese.
  8. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with cheese on top.
  9. Bake: Cover with foil and bake for 20 minutes. Remove foil and bake for another 10 minutes until cheese is bubbly.
  10. Garnish & Serve: Let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing. Top with sour cream and fresh cilantro.
