Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease the baking pan.
Mix cake batter as package says. Pour into pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
Let cake cool for 15 minutes. Poke holes all over with a wooden spoon handle.
Dissolve strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Add cold water and pour over cake.
Refrigerate for 3 hours or until gelatin is set.
Spread whipped topping over the cake.
Mix crushed cookies, melted butter, and strawberry gelatin powder. Sprinkle over cake.
