spiced apple & maple caramel cake

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- 1/4 tsp nutmeg
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- Apple Filling:
- 3 medium apples diced
- 2 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Maple Caramel Sauce:
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/4 cup heavy cream
- 2 tbsp butter
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C)
Grease cake pan with butter
Mix dry cake ingredients in a bowl
Combine wet ingredients separately
Fold dry and wet mixtures together
Fold in diced apples
Pour batter into prepared pan
Bake for 45-50 minutes
Cool completely before adding maple caramel sauce
