Spaghetti Napoli

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound spaghetti
  • 28 oz can of San Marzano tomatoes
  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • Salt and pepper to taste

  • Saucepan for the tomato sauce

Method
 

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil for the pasta.
  2. Heat olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat.
  3. Add minced garlic and cook until fragrant.
  4. Pour in the tomatoes, crushing them with your hands as you add them.
  5. Simmer the sauce for 20-25 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Cook the spaghetti according to package instructions.
  7. Drain the pasta, reserving 1/2 cup of pasta water.
  8. Toss the spaghetti with the sauce, adding pasta water if needed.
  9. Garnish with fresh basil leaves and serve hot.
