Southern chocolate cobbler

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour 1/2 cup unsalted butter melted
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar 1 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Mix dry ingredients in a bowl.
  3. Stir in melted butter, milk, and vanilla.
  4. Pour batter into greased skillet.
  5. Sprinkle 1/4 cup cocoa powder and 1/2 cup sugar on top.
  6. Pour 1 1/4 cups hot water over the batter.
  7. Bake for 40-45 minutes until top is set but center is gooey.
  8. Let cool for 15 minutes before serving.
