slow cooker hoisin chicken recipe

Hoisin sauce adds a sweet and savory touch to the chicken. It makes the dish a hit with your family. The slow cooker does all the work, blending flavors into a delicious meal with little effort.

Ingredients
  

  • 3-4 pounds boneless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup hoisin sauce
  • 1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 3 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 teaspoon grated fresh ginger

Method
 

  1. Trim excess fat from chicken thighs
  2. Whisk hoisin sauce and other liquid ingredients in a bowl
  3. Place chicken in slow cooker
  4. Pour sauce mixture over chicken
  5. Cook on low for 6-7 hours
  6. Shred chicken with two forks
  7. Serve hot over rice or noodles
