Slow cooker beef

  • Large skillet
  • Cutting board

Ingredients
  

  • 2 pounds beef stew meat cut into 1-inch cubes
  • 1 onion diced
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 can cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch optional, for thickening

Instructions
 

  • Season beef with salt and pepper.
  • Brown meat in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • Transfer beef to slow cooker.
  • Add onions, garlic, soup, broth, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme.
  • Cook on low for 7-8 hours or high for 4-5 hours.
  • If desired, mix cornstarch with 1/4 cup cold water and stir into the slow cooker beef tips during the last 30 minutes to thicken the gravy.
  • Serve over mashed potatoes or egg noodles.
