meatball and orzo recipe

Picture tender meatballs covered in a rich cream sauce, served with soft orzo pasta. Each bite is a mix of parmesan, fresh herbs, and smooth textures. It's both cozy and fancy, making it great for family dinners or gatherings with friends.

Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground beef 80/20 lean
  • 1/2 cup fresh parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 2 cups tomato basil sauce
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Method
 

  1. Mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, and half the parmesan cheese in a bowl.
  2. Form mixture into small meatballs, approximately 1-inch in diameter.
  3. Heat Dutch oven and brown meatballs on all sides.
  4. Add tomato basil sauce and orzo, stirring to combine.
  5. Simmer for 12-15 minutes until pasta is tender.
  6. Sprinkle remaining parmesan cheese on top before serving.
