Honey Sriracha Chicken Recipe

Our recipe adds a unique twist to traditional chicken with an Asian-inspired sauce. The honey and sriracha glaze caramelizes beautifully. It brings out a complex yet satisfying flavor.

Ingredients
  

  • For the Chicken:
  • 1 lb 450g boneless, skinless chicken breasts or thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • ½ cup cornstarch for coating
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • 2 tbsp vegetable oil for frying
  • For the Honey Sriracha Sauce:
  • ¼ cup honey
  • 3 tbsp Sriracha adjust for spice level
  • 2 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 1 tsp sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tsp grated ginger
  • 1 tsp cornstarch + 1 tbsp water slurry for thickening
  • For Garnish Optional:
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions sliced

Equipment

  • Large skillet or wok
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Cutting board & knife
  • Measuring cups & spoons
  • Tongs or spatula

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Chicken:
  2. In a bowl, mix cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. Toss chicken pieces in the mixture until evenly coated.
  4. Cook the Chicken:
  5. Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  6. Add chicken and cook for 4-5 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked.
  7. Remove and set aside.
  8. Make the Sauce:
  9. In a bowl, whisk together honey, Sriracha, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sesame oil, garlic, and ginger.
  10. Pour into the skillet over medium heat and bring to a simmer.
  11. Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for 1-2 minutes until thickened.
  12. Coat the Chicken:
  13. Return the cooked chicken to the skillet and toss until evenly coated in the sauce.
  14. Garnish & Serve:
  15. Sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions.
