Equipment

  • Deep fryer or large, heavy-bottomed pot
  • Thermometer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Whisk
  • Slotted spoon
  • Paper towels

Ingredients
  

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 2 cups diced apples
  • Vegetable oil for frying
  • Powdered sugar for coating

Instructions
 

  • Mix dry ingredients in a large bowl
  • Whisk eggs, milk, and melted butter in another bowl
  • Combine wet and dry ingredients, fold in diced apples
  • Heat oil to 375°F in your fryer or pot
  • Drop spoonfuls of batter into hot oil
  • Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes per side
  • Drain on paper towels and dust with powdered sugar
