creamy butternut squash casserole

Fall makes us crave warm, comforting foods. The creamy butternut squash casserole is perfect for this. It's great as a side or main dish. Its rich taste and smooth texture are perfect for holidays and gatherings.

Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups cubed butternut squash
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh sage
  • 2 cloves minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

  • 9x13-inch baking dish
  • Large mixing bowl
  • Sharp knife
  • Cutting board
  • Vegetable peeler
  • Measuring cups and spoons

Method
 

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C)
  2. Peel and cube butternut squash
  3. Mix squash, cream, cheese, sage, garlic, salt, and pepper in a bowl
  4. Transfer mixture to baking dish
  5. Combine breadcrumbs with melted butter and sprinkle over top
  6. Bake for 45-50 minutes until squash is tender and top is golden
  7. Let cool for 5 minutes before serving
