Broccoli Cheese Balls Recipe

Great for game days, family gatherings, or a quick snack, these appetizers mix fresh veggies with melted cheese. This recipe shows that healthy food can be both tasty and fun.

Ingredients
  

  • 300 g broccoli steamed and finely chopped
  • 150 g shredded cheddar cheese
  • 100 g shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 100 g breadcrumbs plus extra for coating
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/4 tsp black pepper
  • 1 tbsp olive oil if baking
  • Oil for frying if frying

  • Steamer or pot for boiling
  • Cheese grater
  • Baking sheet (if baking)
  • Frying pan or deep fryer (if frying)

Method
 

  1. Prepare the Broccoli: Steam or boil the broccoli until tender. Drain well and finely chop.
  2. Mix the Ingredients: In a large bowl, combine chopped broccoli, cheddar cheese, mozzarella cheese, breadcrumbs, beaten eggs, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Form the Balls: Take small portions of the mixture and roll them into bite-sized balls.
  4. Coat with Breadcrumbs: Roll each ball in additional breadcrumbs to create a crispy exterior.
