Bang Bang Cauliflower Recipe

Forget about boring side dishes. This recipe brings top-notch flavor right to your kitchen. Every crispy bite is a mix of crunch and spice that everyone will love. It's perfect for vegetarians or anyone wanting to spice up their meals.

Ingredients
  

  • For the Cauliflower:
  • 1 medium head cauliflower cut into florets
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch for extra crispiness
  • ½ tsp salt
  • ½ tsp black pepper
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ cup milk or plant-based milk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Cooking spray or oil for baking
  • For the Bang Bang Sauce:
  • ½ cup mayonnaise or Greek yogurt for a lighter option
  • 2 tbsp Sriracha adjust for spice level
  • 2 tbsp sweet chili sauce
  • 1 tbsp honey or maple syrup
  • 1 tsp lime juice
  • For Garnish:
  • 1 tbsp sesame seeds
  • 2 green onions sliced

Equipment

  • Large mixing bowls
  • Baking sheet (or air fryer)
  • Parchment paper
  • Whisk
  • Tongs or spoon

Method
 

  1. Preheat & Prepare:
  2. Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) or air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  3. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  4. Coat the Cauliflower:
  5. In a bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  6. Add milk and stir to create a thick batter.
  7. Dip cauliflower florets into the batter, then coat with panko breadcrumbs.
  8. Bake or Air-Fry:
  9. Oven Method: Arrange coated florets on the baking sheet and spray with oil. Bake for 25-30 minutes, flipping halfway.
  10. Air Fryer Method: Place in the air fryer basket and cook for 12-15 minutes, shaking halfway.
  11. Make the Bang Bang Sauce:
  12. In a bowl, whisk together mayo, Sriracha, sweet chili sauce, honey, and lime juice.
  13. Toss & Serve:
  14. Once cauliflower is crispy, toss in the bang bang sauce or drizzle on top.
  15. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.
